Who is Raise the Bar
A South-East based financial management consultancy, providing finance director services on a part-time or ad-hoc basis. We support businesses in need of strategic financial support as they grow and mature, but before they are ready to take on a full-time FD as an employee.
We are passionate about improving decision-making through the provision of high quality management information and insights, formulation of robust budgets and forecasts as well as long-term planning for growth and securing funding.
We focus on getting to know your business, industry and people and providing you with clear communication of financial performance on a timely basis that suits your business.

Raise the Bar Financial Management is led by Sophie Jones, ACMA, a chartered management accountant with over 18 years experience partnering businesses to help make decisions.
Sophie started out in Telecoms finance supporting launches of new products and services such as watching videos on your mobile (I wonder if that caught on?). She has since moved into various senior finance roles at a FTSE 100 retailer, where she has led finance teams in strategy, online and digital, and group financial planning and analysis.
Sophie now works part-time as a Finance Director, providing strategic finance support to a hospitality company and spends the rest of the week sharing expertise and best practice with other small and medium sized businesses. She also mentors and coaches accountants and book-keepers to expand their services for their clients.
She’s passionate about helping business owners make conscious, informed decisions through the development of high quality management information, actionable insights and most importantly, clear communication.
